DS-7616NI-K2/16P — RTSP corruption

Running V4.74.210 build 240108 — matches the top of Dan's recommended chain in that thread. My version isn't listed on the current portal anymore (link) — newest entry there is V4.74.205, a lower version, aimed at an operator-login bug.


Issue: RTSP streams are consistently corrupted (garbled H.264, audio static), but the NVR's local monitor output and Hik-Connect are both clean.

Given the model's discontinued and my firmware's already the latest available:

1. Anyone know of a known RTSP bug on this K2 firmware line?
2. Or just time to replace it?

@chitolocz are you streaming over a wired or wireless network?

what do the vlc error logs say? On Mac its window> errors&warnings, window> messages.

@David Thanks for jumping in.
Desktop is Wi-Fi, but I also tested wired — same corruption.

VLC

ffplay errors: sps_id out of range, non-existing PPS referenced, too many reference frames, no frame!, missing reference picture.

Is your stream encrypted perhaps? If yes disable that in platform access

Not very good encryption then, very basic.
