Hik-Connect install on Android wall screen

Hi.

In the past I’ve installed Hik-Connect on Android TVs, so thought it would be easy to do again. It’s not!

I’m using an iiyama android touch screen, which is essentially a large tablet, designed for wall mounting.

Hik-Connect will side load and install, but on launching it says it cannot be “run on a root device”. The device isn’t rooted, it’s new out the box.

Trying to install from the Play Store it just says “this app is not supported on your device”.

Has anyone managed to install on a screen?

If its new, does not mean its not rooted. It can mean you have custom ROM android OS. Which is "rooted" by default.

Thanks. I’ve been speaking with Ilyama, and was told they do occasionally supply unrooted firmware if required, however, my model apparently isn’t rooted. Their dev team are looking into why it won’t install.
