I hired an installer to install a Hikvision DS-KIS603-P(C) kit.
The kit includes the DS-KV6113-WPE1(C) door station and the DS-KH6320-WTE1 indoor monitor. The firmware is up-to-date.
Unfortunately, the installer was very sloppy. After completing the installation, he took the box away along with all the unused accessories. However, I clearly remember that the kit included an Admin/Master Card inside a small plastic sleeve with a printed number / serial.
I asked the installer to return the box together with all the unused accessories, including the card. He claimed that this kit does not include such a card (!).
Since I personally held the card in my hands during the installation, the only explanations I can think of are that he either lost it and does not want to admit it, or is deliberately withholding it to avoid having to replace the whole equipment.
My main concern is security.
I have watched several videos and read multiple forum posts about how the Master Card works. I also contacted several official Hikvision distributors (same country), and every one of them gave me a different answer. Even Hikvision itself does not seem to have a definitive explanation about the way the Master Card works.

My only concern here is security. This device controls access to the front door of my home.

- The master card does not unlock the door. Its only purpose is to put the device into enrollment mode so that access keyfobs can be registered.
- Some sources claim that the Admin Card works without any prior pairing, while others say it must first be associated with the device.
- Some sources told be that with the latest firmware the master card can't be used to enroll new keyfobs.
- The enrollment process appears to work as follows:
- Present the Admin Card -> the device beeps twice.
- Present an access keyfob -> the device beeps once.
- Present the Admin Card again -> enrollment mode is closed.
I would really appreciate it if anyone familiar with these devices could clarify the following:
- What is the actual security model behind the Admin/Master Card?
- If someone finds or keeps an Admin Card and knows which unit it belongs to, can they still register new keyfobs, even after the device has been factory reset?
- Is there any registration or pairing process between the Admin/Master Card and the device? Some distributors told me there is, but I have found no documentation supporting this claim. I also performed some light reverse engineering of the firmware, and I could not find any evidence that such functionality exists.
