DS-KV6114-WBE1 set up nightmare

Hi all,
New here so please be gentle! ;-)

Today I installed my new DS-KV6114 door station but after running both SADP and Hi tools delivery, cannot find the doorbell in order to set it up.

I have the door station wired directly into a to-link LS108GP POE switch and believe it to be on the same network as my computer although could not find it after running the advanced IP scanner tool.

I’ve literally spent all day watching YouTube videos and scrolling the web but can still not understand why I can’t find it.
I can just about work things out but am not the most advanced when it comes to IP address and networking so don’t really understand when it gets a bit to technical!

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I’m not sure if this maybe creating the issue; so my router is a SmartHub sh32B (model f5394 P EE) but into this router I have x 3 BT whole home discs that create a mesh network. Everything is connected to the BT discs rather than the EE router but it’s into the EE router that I have my POE plugged into!
Do you think that this maybe causing the/a problem?

Possibly, mesh networks usually let the router give ip addresses. What model number are the bt whole home discs?

Can you connect your computer to the LAN side of your router? Using an Ethernet cable. That should put you on the same network as your switch.

I’m not sure to be honest David - on the data badge it says BT whole home M5P so guessing this is the model!?

On my EE router I only have 1 WAN port, 4 Ethernet ports and 1 phone port so not sure I am able to connect to LAN?
From 1 of the Ethernet ports I have wired this into 1 of the ports on the POE switch, is this correct? Then in another on the POE I have the BT whole home disc

The 4 Ethernet ports should be on the LAN side, turn off your computer WiFi as well.

Thanks David, have just tried this again so now running directly from laptop into Ethernet port on router. Ran the Hitools search and still only 3 devices coming up (I have 6 hik cameras wired into NVR (DS-7608NI-M2/8P) then the NVR connected into the POE switch.
All that comes up is the NVR and a wireless security panels
Laptop is now showing no internet connection, would this be the case now I have it wired into LAN port?

post a screenshot of what hitools is showing.

does turning wifi on give you internet access? keep your computer connected to the LAN port as well. Let me know the IP address of your computer ethernet port and wifi adapter.

Sounds as though you are in a hole and keep on digging. Without screenshots and relevant ip addresses I can’t help you. What you see as irrelevant could mean something to others. SADP screenshots would be useful.

SADP tools is using a broadcast discovery. Perhaps broadcast is not allowed in your mesh?

The device default ip address is 192.0.0.65, put yourself in that range and see if its pingable.

Thanks both for your help. I have finally managed to sort it thankfully.
I don’t know why I didn’t do it from the begging to be honest but what I did was a hard reset on the door station then there it was, popped up in hitools as inactive.
All set up now and working….finally
