Product Questions (10)
I use Mac computers. Will this work with their OS ?
does ONVIF complience mean that this model works with Synology SurveillanceStation? (unlike the 2CD2012-I, this one is not on Synology's compatibility list.) can it be configured at least manually, so that motion detection would work?
Question by: volker on 27 Jul 2013 15:44:15
It does work, but when we tested it we found it to be buggy, better to wait until Synology do their tests with the camera and add it as a selectable model from their dropdown list of proven models. The HikVision 3MP models are newer than the 1.3MP models, undobtedly they will be tested by Synology and added in due course.

Can I mount this Camera on a wall or does it require a wall mount bracket?
Question by: Steve on 25 Jul 2013 12:05:05
You can mount it flat back onto a wall if you are looking away from the wall, if you need to look left/right or along the wall then we would recommend using a bracket and mounting the camera pendant style.

How can I get at the MJPEG stream? I need to be able to display the video feed via a re-sizeable window on our web server, rather than connecting to the camera directly and using the Live View plug-in. Is the MJPEG fed via an image file in a sub-folder? If so, what's the path?
Question by: Bri on 27 Feb 2013 22:40:30
This will be possible in the next firmware version, due at the end of March.

Is this device onvif and/or milestone compliant? It doesnt appear on the milestone site currently.
Question by: Abertay on 26 Feb 2013 12:39:12
Yes, this IP camera is ONVIF compliant:
"As well, the three new HD network products all support open protocols to expand integration with other devices. The DS-2CD2012-I and DS-2CD2112-I are both ONVIF, PSIA and CGI conformant; while the DS-7600NI-SE(/P) supports third-party network cameras, to provide versatile solutions for different surveillance needs."
