How do you change the focal length on this camera?
Question by: Debbie on 28 Mar 2014 02:55:18
It is manually adjusted at the time of installation.
Two lens rings which rotate:
One adjusts the field of view; wide to telephoto.
The other is used to focus the camera/lens after you have set the angle of view coverage that you need.
Both have a thumbscrew to clamp the settings.
Hope that helps ...

Apart from the vari-focal and SD card recording, what else does this camera offer over the likes of the DS-2CD2132 range?
If you were not interested in the above two areas, the DS-2CD2132 range would be the same?

As this has an SD card facility to capture recorded footage, can you access the camera to view the footage or do you need to remove theSD card and view it some other way? Thus removing the need to use an nvr, also what is the largest SD card that can be used and how much footage will that store.
I look forward to your response

You can access and view recorded video on the micro-SD card in this HikVision camera via your browser i.e. you do not need to remove the card, you just access the camera at its IP address on your network and one of the selectable functions is to play back recorded video.
It can accept up to a 64GB micro-SD card.
I estimate that; at 3fps, h.264 CODEC, 1080p resolution a 64GB card will give you just shy of 7 days continuous recording (2fps = 8 days / 1fps = 16 days).

Hi, You can connect this camera to HikVision's NVRs (Network Video Recorders).
This camera does not have pan, tilt, zoom functions.
It has vari-focal lens adjustment i.e. you can manually adjust the lens viewing angle at the time of installation.
